Barbados issued this piece for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, the first Summer Games following the formal dissolution of the Soviet Union. The IOC's hasty reorganization meant twelve former Soviet republics competed as the Unified Team — winning more gold medals than any other nation — before dissolving entirely, never to appear again under that designation.
