| Obverse description | The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicted in right-facing profile with a diademed and elaborately coiffed bust. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left periphery, while SOLOMON ISLANDS curves along the upper right, and 10 DOLLARS descends along the lower right field. The date 2017 appears in the lower exergual area, and the engraver's initials IRB are incused below the truncation of the neck. |

Along the upper periphery arcs the legend LIB · PAR · OF SCIENCE & INDUSTRY, referencing the provenance of the original dies from the Library, Patent Office, and Museum of Science and Industry. A small circular cartouche bearing the denomination mark V/10 appears to the lower left of the effigy. The lower legend reads 1/2 G .9999 FINEST GOLD flanking the date 1792, attesting to the coin's gold content and commemorating the year of the original issue. |
