Reverse description A highly detailed, three-dimensional relief depiction of a traditional Japanese samurai kabuto (helmet) with an integrated menpo (face mask) fills the entire shaped flan. The central menpo features an expressive fierce visage with pronounced cheekbones, bared teeth, and deeply recessed eye openings. Above the mask, the laminar shikoro plates of the helmet are rendered with precise layered detailing, flanked by broad fukigaeshi ear-guards curving outward. A prominent central maedate crest ornament rises from the peak, flanked by curved kuwagata horn ornaments, all executed in antiqued silver finish with contrasting burnished highlights that emphasize the sculptural depth of the composition. No legends or inscriptions appear on the reverse.
