| Additional information |
Palau has issued commemorative silver since 1992 under licensing arrangements that effectively outsource the numismatic program to European marketing firms — the coins have no circulation role in Palau itself and are struck almost entirely for the collector export market. Augsburg Cathedral, founded in the late ninth century and among the oldest episcopal sees in the German-speaking world, appears here as part of a broader series targeting Central European buyers.
KM#642 was produced by B.H. Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt in Munich, the same private mint responsible for much of Palau's output during this period.
