Obverse description The complete Coat of Arms of Jamaica is displayed at centre, featuring a quartered shield bearing five golden pineapples, supported by two Taino figures in traditional dress, the dexter supporter holding a basket of fruit and the sinister holding a spear. A crocodile rests atop the crested helm above the shield, and a scroll below bears the national motto OUT OF MANY, ONE PEOPLE. The legend JAMAICA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination TEN DOLLARS and the date 1984 appear in large raised letters in the lower field. The design is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished proof field, with a beaded border encircling the entire composition.
