| Obverse description | The obverse features the national coat of arms of Liberia centred in the field, depicting a three-masted sailing ship at sea, a palm tree on the shore, and a rising sun on the horizon, with a plough and a spade in the foreground. The shield is flanked by scrolling laurel branches and surmounted by a ribbon bearing the national motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE. The outer legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA arcs along the upper periphery, with a second inscription REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA appearing within a banner at the base of the arms.
