Obverse description The full Jamaican coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield decorated with five golden pineapples, surmounted by a Jamaican crocodile atop a royal helmet and mantling. Two Taino figures serve as supporters: a female figure to the left bearing a basket of fruit, and a male figure to the right holding a spear, both in traditional dress. The national motto OUT OF MANY, ONE PEOPLE appears on a scroll beneath the shield. The legend JAMAICA arcs along the upper periphery, while TEN DOLLARS and the date 1990 are inscribed along the lower field, all rendered in deeply mirrored proof finish.
