Additional information

The Marshall Islands issued dozens of brass $10 pieces through the 1990s targeting the collector market directly, bypassing circulation entirely. These were produced under licensing arrangements with foreign mints and never functioned as transactional currency in the islands.

Matthew is the only apostle among the four gospel authors also identified as a tax collector in the synoptic tradition — a detail that made his inclusion in devotional series politically useful for issuers courting Catholic and Protestant buyers alike.
