| Obverse description | The obverse displays the official seal of the Republic of the Marshall Islands at centre, depicting a traditional Marshallese stick chart in the lower portion of the shield, flanked by a sailing canoe to the right and tropical vegetation to the left, with a frigate bird displayed above the horizon line and a radiant sun at the top. The field surrounding the seal is framed by a decorative chain border. The legend REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination $10 appears at the left and the date 1997 at the right.
