Fantasy notes occupy a strange corner of the hobby — some are crude novelties, others are genuinely accomplished pieces of design work. Franck Medina's output generally falls in the latter camp; he has produced fantasy issues for several fictitious jurisdictions with a level of technical ambition that outpaces most of what gets passed off as "art currency." The polymer substrate and integrated transparent window here reflect current central bank printing conventions closely enough that the note reads as a credible simulacrum rather than obvious kitsch.
No collector should mistake it for anything issued by an actual monetary authority — no such institution as the Indochinese Peninsula Bank has ever existed.
