Additional information

Singapore's independence anniversary coinage from this period was issued by the Monetary Authority, which had only existed since 1971 — itself a product of Singapore's abrupt separation from Malaysia in 1965, a split so unexpected that Lee Kuan Yew wept publicly when announcing it. The MAS was established partly to manage the transition away from the shared currency arrangement with Malaysia and Brunei, which finally dissolved in 1973 when interchangeability between the three currencies ended.

KM#95 is a one-year type with no documented die varieties of note.
