Obverse description Printed in black and dark green intaglio on a pale guilloche underprint, the obverse carries an oval portrait vignette of Princess Mary at the left within a fine engraved frame, with a large numeral '10' set in an ornate lathe-work cartouche at centre. The bank title 'THE BANK OF CANADA' and the promise text 'WILL PAY TO THE BEARER ON DEMAND' appear above the signatures of the Deputy Governor and Governor, accompanied by the Bank of Canada seal to the right. The legend 'OTTAWA, ISSUE OF 1935' runs along the upper border, with 'TEN DOLLARS' in the lower denomination panel.
