Obverse description Engraved in black and green ink by the American Bank Note Company, the obverse bears the bank title THE QUEBEC BANK in bold lettering across the upper centre, with a large green guilloche oval enclosing the denomination TEN DOLLARS at centre. A classical allegorical vignette at left portrays a reclining female figure accompanied by a globe and navigational instruments, while a second vignette at right presents standing allegorical figures flanking a coat of arms; denomination counters of 10 occupy the upper corners, and the lower border carries the inscription CHARTERED BY ACT OF PARLIAMENT.
