The 17th Pacific Games were held in Honiara in November 2023 — the first time Solomon Islands hosted the event, and the occasion prompted this commemorative polymer issue. Thomas De La Rue's SAFEGUARD™ substrate was by that point well established across Pacific island issuers, several of whom had already converted their regular circulation series to polymer. Whether this note entered general circulation or was issued primarily as a collector item is worth establishing before pricing accordingly.
