| Obverse description | The Barbados coat of arms (Golden Shield of Arms) occupies the central field, flanked by a dolphin to the left, symbolising the fishing industry, and a pelican to the right, recalling Pelican Island. Two Pride of Barbados flowers and a Bearded Fig tree adorn the shield, above which a helmet and mantling are displayed. Surmounting the crest is a mailed arm and hand holding two crossed sugarcane stalks, emblematic of the island's sugar industry. The surrounding legend and coin specifications appear along the rim. |
