Peanuts turned 65 in 2015, marking 65 years since Charles Schulz's strip first ran in seven newspapers on October 2, 1950. The Pobjoy Mint, a British private mint with a long history of producing licensed collector issues for smaller territories, struck this piece for the British Virgin Islands under their standard licensing arrangements with entertainment rights holders.
Schulz died in February 2000, the night before his final Sunday strip ran.
