Comments

Disney Dollars were legal tender within Disney parks and resorts, exchangeable one-for-one with U.S. dollars, which gave them a quasi-monetary status unusual for corporate scrip. The program launched in 1987 and ran until 2016, when Disney quietly discontinued it in favor of gift cards — leaving the entire series as a finite, closed set.

The 1996 date places this note in the middle of the run, before collectibility drove significant hoarding. Earlier issues are considerably harder to find in unfolded condition precisely because nobody thought to save them.
