Reverse description The reverse field carries three lines of bold Arabic script arranged in the central area of the coin. The uppermost line reads 'Sikka Hasaniyya' (the Hasanian mint), attributing the coinage to Sultan Moulay al-Hasan I. The middle line reads 'Duribat bi-Baris' (struck in Paris), indicating the place of manufacture. The lower portion bears the Hijri date 1298, corresponding to 1881 CE. As on the obverse, the design is unadorned and text-only, framed by a continuous toothed or serrated border around the periphery.
