Obverse description Within a raised inner circle, the legend 'البنك المركزي الجزائري' (Central Bank of Algeria) is rendered in elaborate calligraphic Arabic script occupying the central field. The inner circle is enclosed by an ornate arabesque border of interlacing foliate and geometric motifs that extends to the ten sides of the decagonal flan, with decorative floral elements positioned at the apex and base of the border.
