The Planinska zveza Slovenije is Slovenia's national mountaineering federation, founded in 1948 as the successor body to earlier alpine clubs operating under Yugoslav structures. This note is not a banknote in any statutory sense — it is a contribution voucher, issued to raise funds for the construction of the Zlatorog mountain hut. Zlatorog, the golden-horned chamois of Slovenian alpine legend, lends its name to several huts and lodges in the Triglav area.
Scrip of this kind was common among Yugoslav sporting and cultural societies during the socialist period, functioning as internal fundraising instruments with no legal tender status whatsoever.
