Obverse description Intaglio-printed portrait vignette to the left of Arif Heralić, a Bosnian Roma steelworker, shown in working attire with protective goggles pushed up on his forehead and holding tools, set against a brown guilloche underprint with the numeral 10 in an ornate oval cartouche to the right. The bank title is inscribed in three scripts — Cyrillic Serbian, Latin, and Cyrillic Macedonian — above the central denomination panel, with signature lines for the Vice-Governor and Governor below, and the place and date of issue centred between them. A fine geometric border frames the entire face.

Reverse description The reverse is dominated by a large central guilloche medallion enclosing the bold numeral 10, surrounded by a circular band inscribed with the names of the Yugoslav constituent republics and provinces. Flanking cartouches to the left and right carry the written denomination in Serbian Cyrillic, Slovenian Latin, and Macedonian Cyrillic respectively, all set within an elaborate multicolour guilloche underprint in brown, orange, and blue. The state title in Latin, Serbian Cyrillic, and Slovenian scripts runs in three columns along the right margin, with the anti-counterfeiting warning legend in four languages along the lower border.
