Additional information

1935 marks the year Reza Shah officially demanded foreign governments use "Iran" rather than "Persia" — a nationalist rebranding that coincided with a sweeping currency and coinage reform. This copper 10 Dinar was part of that reorganized decimal system, replacing the older qajar-era denominations as the regime worked to modernize every visible instrument of state, including its pocket change.

The Schön 103a designation distinguishes this from the earlier bronze striking of the same type.
