| Reverse description | The reverse presents a large gilt scorpion rendered in high relief occupying the left and centre of the oval field, its segmented body, claws, and arched tail depicted with fine naturalistic detail and selective gilt plating. To the right, a circular color-enamelled insert set in deep blue portrays the Scorpio constellation, its principal stars connected by gilt lines against a star-filled night sky. The scorpion's zodiac glyph appears in the lower left field. Elaborate scrolling acanthus and flame motifs in silver and gilt relief frame the entire composition around the oval border. The inscription SCORPIO is engraved in raised Latin letters along the lower edge of the coin. |
