| Obverse description | The right portion carries an intaglio vignette of the torso of the Goddess Isis in warm golden tones, set against a multicoloured guilloche underprint of pink, purple, and blue vertical bands. To the left, a crescent-shaped gold filigree motif sits above a small intaglio bust portrait at lower left, accompanied by the date inscription and Governor's signature beneath the principal legend. A transparent polymeric window at the far left integrates a blue rhomboid optically variable security element within a white frame. |

| Reverse description | The full width of the note is occupied by a reproduction of a 6th-century mosaic from the ancient city of Stobi, rendered in teal, gold, and purple tesserae against a warm ochre mosaic-pattern background, with a peacock as the central motif. The denomination numeral appears in the lower centre-right area, with the identifying caption inscribed below the vignette. A transparent polymeric window at the right edge incorporates a blue rhomboid optically variable element within a white surround, mirroring the security window on the obverse. |

This note marks the first time North Macedonia's banknotes reflected the country's renamed status following the 2018 Prespa Agreement with Greece — the deal that ended a decades-long dispute over the name "Macedonia" by adding the geographic qualifier "North." The renaming took effect in February 2019, making the 2020 polymer series the first regular-issue currency to carry the full constitutional name.
De La Rue's polymer substrate here is their Safeguard material, which North Macedonia adopted at the low-denomination end of the series — a common approach where central banks trial polymer on smaller values before committing the full range. The transparent window is integrated into the substrate rather than applied, which distinguishes it from older film-laminate security constructions.
