Additional information

Austria's 10 Corona gold series was produced in the final stable years before the First World War dismantled the Habsburg monetary system entirely. The 1909–1912 window corresponds to a period when the Austro-Hungarian crown was firmly backed by gold reserves, a discipline the successor states would find impossible to maintain after 1918.

Restrikes of this type were produced by the Austrian Mint well into the 20th century for bullion purposes — original-date examples from circulation are considerably scarcer than the restrike population suggests.
