Comments

Nicaragua's córdoba currency had been relaunched in 1990 at a rate of 5,000,000 old córdobas to one new, following one of Latin America's more severe hyperinflationary episodes. By 2002, the Banco Central was still methodically rebuilding the note series on a stable footing, and the Canadian Bank Note Company in Ottawa had become the consistent production partner across multiple denominations of this period.

The security specification here is modest — watermark and thread only, no color-shifting ink or other features that appeared on higher-denomination notes in the same series. Practical for a note at this face value.
