Obverse description Central vignette of the Summer Palace (Longevity Hill) at left and the Temple of Heaven (Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests) at right, printed in brown tones with guilloche underprint. Denomination and issuer inscriptions appear in Chinese characters, with place of issue indicated as Peking (Beijing).

Reverse description Central guilloche medallion bearing the large numeral '10' within a circular frame, flanked by Chinese characters '拾' (ten) in ornate cartouches at left and right. The legend 'TEN COPPER COINS' runs horizontally across a banner through the centre, with dense geometric lathe-work filling the field; printer's imprint 'BUREAU OF ENGRAVING AND PRINTING, PEKING, CHINA' appears at the bottom margin.
