Reverse description A naturalistic composition occupies the centre of the field, depicting a butterfly perched among a spray of flowering branches identified as the Lignum Vitae, Jamaica's national flower. The winged insect is rendered in fine detail with decorative wing patterns, resting amid blossoms and foliage that spread across the field. The legend TEN CENTS arcs in widely spaced letters along the upper periphery, and the large numeral 10 appears prominently in the lower field.
