Reverse description The reverse features Chinese characters denoting the denomination — 香港壹毫 (Hong Kong One Dime) — arranged within a central beaded circle. The English legend HONG KONG arcs around the upper periphery separated by asterisks, while TEN CENTS appears along the lower arc. The date 1897 is positioned in the lower right field outside the beaded circle. The overall design follows the standard format of the circulating Victoria ten-cent coinage, adapted here for an aluminium trial striking.
