Obverse description Left-facing diademed and draped bust of Queen Victoria, her hair drawn back into a chignon and adorned with a jewelled tiara, engraved in the style established by Leonard Charles Wyon. The legend VICTORIA is arranged along the left periphery and QUEEN along the right, both in raised Latin capitals. A toothed border encircles the entire design, and the mint mark H appears at the bottom of the coin below the truncation, denoting the Heaton Mint, Birmingham.
