| Obverse description | Central device features the Cypriot coat of arms — a shield bearing a dove with an olive branch, set above crossed olive branches — enclosed within a wreath of olive leaves. The date of independence, 1960, appears within the lower portion of the shield. The trilingual legend CYPRUS · ΚΥΠΡΟΣ · KIBRIS encircles the design along the upper rim, with the mint year (e.g. 2002) inscribed along the lower rim, all separated by raised dots. |
