A sheaf of tropical vegetation appears at lower left, and an anchor is partially visible at lower right, symbolising commerce and maritime trade. The legend REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE curves along the upper rim, with the engraver's name BARRE inscribed at lower left in the exergue area and the date 1937 prominently displayed at the bottom.
