| Obverse description | The South African National Coat of Arms is depicted centrally in the field, featuring a shield supported by two human figures above a scroll bearing the Khoisan motto !KE E:/XARRA //KE, with a protea flower, spears, and a knobkierie incorporated into the design. A secretary bird with outstretched wings surmounts the shield, and an elephant tusk and ears of wheat flank the composition. The engraver's initials ALS appear in the lower field.
