Additional information

Trinidad and Tobago marked its twentieth independence anniversary in 1982 with a series of proof issues in sterling silver, of which this is among the smallest by weight. The Franklin Mint, which produced a substantial portion of Caribbean proof coinage during the 1970s and early 1980s, handled much of the regional contract work for these commemorative programs — a arrangement that kept mintages tightly controlled and largely directed toward collector markets abroad rather than domestic circulation.
