Obverse description Left-facing crowned effigy of King George VI, depicted with a bare neck and wearing the St. Edward's Crown with fleurs-de-lis and crosses pattée. The portrait, engraved by Percy Metcalfe, is rendered in high relief with fine detail. The circular legend reads KING GEORGE THE SIXTH around the periphery, with a beaded inner border separating the effigy from the milled edge.
