Obverse description Left-facing crowned effigy of King George V, depicted in robes with the Imperial State Crown, after the portrait by Sir Bertram Mackennal. The king is shown in a draped and uniformed bust, with fine detail in the crown and collar. A beaded border frames the design, with a small five-pointed star at the base of the bust. The circular legend reads GEORGE V KING AND EMPEROR OF INDIA, flanked by star stops.

Reverse description The numeral 10 dominates the centre of the reverse within a beaded inner circle, with the spelled-out denomination TEN CENTS and the date appearing along the lower arc within the circle. The issuer name STRAITS SETTLEMENTS is inscribed along the upper arc outside the beaded circle, flanked by dashes at each side. A secondary beaded border runs along the outer rim of the coin.
