Obverse description Left-facing effigy of King George V wearing the Imperial State Crown, with a draped and robed bust rendered in high relief after the portrait by Sir Edgar Bertram MacKennal. The legend encircles the effigy along the periphery, reading GEORGE V KING AND EMPEROR OF INDIA, separated by a beaded border from the reeded edge. The truncation of the bust is visible at the lower field, and fine detail is apparent in the royal robes and crown jewels.
