Obverse description The full Barbadian national coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield supported by a dolphin to the left and a pelican to the right, with a bearded fig tree as the crest above and a crossed trident and broken trident at the apex. A scroll below the shield bears the national motto PRIDE AND INDUSTRY. The commemorative dates 1966 and 1976, flanking the arms, denote the tenth anniversary of Barbadian independence. The country name BARBADOS is inscribed in a bold legend along the lower periphery, with a beaded border encircling the entire design.
