Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a jewelled tiara, rendered in the fourth definitive portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left field and COOK ISLANDS along the upper right field, flanking the portrait. The engraver's initials IRB appear in small relief beneath the truncation of the neck. The date 2012 is inscribed in the lower exergue below the effigy.

Reverse description A detailed depiction of HMS Bounty under full sail occupies the central field, portrayed as a three-masted square-rigged vessel with all sails set and rigging finely rendered. A flag, discernible as a British ensign, flies from the mizzen mast. The denomination 10 CENTS is inscribed in bold lettering in the lower field, with the fineness and weight designation 1/10 OZ FINE SILVER .999 inscribed below in smaller characters along the lower rim.
