Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as a young woman, depicted at approximately 37 years of age, wearing a tiara. The portrait, executed in the second definitive style by Arnold Machin, presents a draped bust with fine detail in the hair and tiara. The encircling legend reads ELIZABETH II D•G•REGINA, acknowledging the Queen's title by the Grace of God. The legend is rendered in raised Latin lettering along the upper and lower periphery of the obverse field.
