Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the George IV State Diadem, with a lace-trimmed dress visible at the truncation, after the first portrait modelled by Cecil Thomas. The bust is unadorned save for the crown, rendered in fine relief with carefully detailed hair arranged in a formal coiffure. The circular legend QUEEN ELIZABETH THE SECOND runs around the periphery, conforming to the scalloped edge of the coin.
