Additional information

Issued as part of the Golden Jubilee commemorative program marking fifty years of Elizabeth II's reign, this proof strike was produced specifically for collector sets rather than circulation. The Royal Canadian Mint released several silver proof versions of circulation denominations that year, replacing the standard nickel composition with sterling silver as a deliberate nod to mid-century coinage practice. KM#447a distinguishes this piece from the standard circulation dime by composition alone — the design itself was unchanged.
