Obverse description A central circular hole is surmounted by an imperial crown rendered in fine relief, flanked symmetrically by scroll ornaments to the left and right. The peripheral legend reads EDWARDVS VIII REX ET IND:IMP: in Latin characters, denoting the king's royal and imperial titles, with the denomination TEN CENTS and the Heaton Mint mark H also appearing within the legend. The overall design is characteristic of the holed coinage produced for British colonial territories in the early twentieth century.
