| Obverse description | The obverse presents a finely engraved effigy of King Charles III facing left, depicted as an uncrowned, undraped bust rendered in high relief against a radially striated field. The portrait, designed by Steven Rosati, captures the monarch at approximately 74 years of age with naturalistic detail in the facial features, hair, and collar. An inner beaded border frames the design, with the legend CHARLES III to the left and D·G·REX to the right, arcing along the inner periphery in upright Latin capitals. The engraver's initials SR appear discreetly at the lower truncation of the bust. |
