| Obverse description | Seated allegorical figure of the French Republic (Marianne), radiate-crowned and draped in classical robes, facing slightly left toward the viewer. She holds a fasces topped with a spear in her raised right hand, while her left arm rests upon a rudder; a sheaf of grain is positioned to her left in the field. The legend REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE curves along the left and right periphery, and the engraver's name BARRE appears in small letters at the base of the design. The date is prominently displayed in the exergue below a beaded inner border, with a finely denticulated outer rim encircling the entire composition. |
