| Obverse description | Seated allegorical figure of the French Republic (Marianne), wearing a radiate crown, facing slightly left, draped in classical robes. She holds a fasces surmounted by a Phrygian cap upright in her raised right hand, while her left hand rests upon a rudder at her side; a sheaf of wheat stands to the left in the field. The surrounding legend reads REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE, with the engraver's name BARRE and the date inscribed in the lower exergual area. The design is executed in high relief within a toothed border. |
