| Obverse description | Printed in black on pink paper, the obverse is divided into two registers by a horizontal rule. The upper register bears the municipal coat of arms of Sabadell at the left, rendered in a wreath vignette, alongside the issuer's name in bold letterpress capitals and the service name in cursive script. Sabadell was one of hundreds of Catalan municipalities that issued their own small-denomination paper money during the Civil War after the Republican government's coin shortage left everyday commerce effectively paralyzed. The Ajuntament de Sabadell produced several céntimos denominations in 1937 to fill that gap locally — these notes functioned as hyperlocal scrip, accepted within the town but legally worthless beyond it.
The validation stamp is the only security feature, which tells you everything about the improvised nature of the issue. Forgery was not the primary concern; municipal acceptance was.
