Monzón, a town in Huesca province, was one of many Aragonese municipalities that collectivized under anarcho-syndicalist administration during the Spanish Civil War. Local councils and collectives printed their own fractional currency from 1936 onward to address a chronic shortage of small change — the Republican government's inability to supply coin to the provinces was near-total.
The issuing body here, the Consejo Administrativo de la Colectividad, reflects the CNT-influenced governance structure that briefly ran Monzón's civic and economic life. The incomplete Gari reference suggests cataloging remains unresolved — possibly a known type with surviving specimens too few to fully document.
