Masdenverge is a small municipality in the Montsià comarca of Tarragona province, and like hundreds of Catalan and Spanish towns during the Civil War, its local council issued emergency fractional currency — paper money in small denominations — to address the near-total disappearance of metal coinage from circulation after 1936. The Republican government's copper and nickel coins were hoarded, melted, or simply stopped moving. Local councils filled the gap themselves.

Turró catalogues this as a single known type for the issuer, which suggests the Consell Municipal produced a limited run with no follow-on series.
