Estercuel is a village in Teruel province, Aragon — collectivized under anarcho-syndicalist administration during the Spanish Civil War. Like dozens of similarly isolated Republican municipalities, it issued its own local scrip when the central banking system became functionally unreachable and metallic coin disappeared from everyday commerce almost overnight in 1936–37.

The Gari Mon reference places this firmly within the documented corpus of Aragonese local issues, though survivorship is poor for notes from villages this small. Estercuel's wartime population was numbered in the hundreds.
